Ard Darach Cottage is a charming self-catering cottage nestled amongst woodland in a tranquil location, yet within reach of the beautiful sandy Loch Stornoway beach. The cottage overlooks a gentle flowing burn and offers a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  The large triple glazed windows maximise solar gain and offer lovely views of the surrounding woodland, burn and evening sunsets. In an area rich in wildlife, geology, archaeology, scottish history and breath taking scenery, Ard Darach Cottage is the perfect base for exploring mid-Argyll and the Kintyre peninsula.

Single story (ground floor) suitable for assisted walking and wheelchair users and step free access throughout (except for Kitchen outer door step).

Open plan kitchen, dining and living room with wood burning stove and deep window seats to cosy up to with a book and burn view.

2 bedrooms arranged with either twin or super king beds, each has a large window offering woodland views and direct access to the patio and sitting room. Hair dryer provided.

Free Wifi 

The en-suite bedroom has an enclosed shower and the other bedroom has an adjacent walk-in wet room with a ceiling and wall mounted shower, folding shower seat, grab rails, comfort height toilet and easy access sink.

Bore hole water source - ample supply with treatment plant that meets water regulatory requirements.

Electric thermostatic panel heaters together with heat recovery mechanical ventilation system.

Discover nature amongst the semi ancient woodland on your doorstep rich with mosses, ferns and lichen. A 3yr woodland restoration programme enabled the native woodland to recover. Walk the short circular route alongside the burn and stop to enjoy the woodland around you. Watch the red squirrels and deer that sometimes roam as well as listening to the cuckoos and owls all within the 3 acre garden.

Feel free to help water and tend to the small garden enclosure (protected from nibbling deer and sheep) in return for some culinary pickings and flowers .

Tarbert has a nine hole course  attractively situated on the shores of West Loch, Tarbert. Or slightly further afield by about an hour from Tarbert is Machrihanish Golf course, a championship quality golf course.
